Belchin village is nestling in the picturesque valley of the River Palakaria, in the area between the mountains Rila and Verila, Vitosha and Plana. It is located at a distance of 50 km from the capital of Bulgaria and only 15 min. away from the resort Borovets. The region is characterized by extremely soft and healthy climate, beautiful natural surroundings, and spectacular views. The area has its own mineral water resources with proven therapeutic and prophylactic effects.
Belchin is located in close proximity to various tourist routes with environmental, natural and cultural orientation.
The village has existed since the period of the Second Bulgarian state, and some researchers refer it to even more ancient times.
For the long and rich history of Belchin testify remains of a large fortress located on “St. Spas” hill where there is a solid fortress wall built of hewn stone and bricks from Roman times.
Near the centuries-old beech and pine forests, River Palakaria flows after springing from Vitosha Mountain, to finally flow into the Iskar River.
